Brussels, 26 July 2022: Classifieds Marketplaces Europe (CME) welcomes Vinted as a member.

Vinted’s C2C marketplace enables people to buy, sell, and exchange secondhand clothing and other lifestyle items. Founded in Lithuania in 2008, Vinted now operates in 16 markets across Europe and North America, catering to a fast-growing community of more than 65 million members that support Vinted’s mission to make second-hand first choice.

Janneke Sloetjes, Senior Director Global Public Affairs at Vinted, says: “As a business which aims to have a positive impact on consumption, we are pleased to join other circular economy marketplaces to become a member of CME. We believe it is important to speak with a unified voice on key issues to effectively contribute to good policymaking and increase knowledge of our business and its impact.”

Carolin Wehrhahn, chair of CME and director of EU public affairs at Adevinta, says: “We are delighted that Vinted have joined CME. As a well-known brand that is already recognized as a leader in second-hand trade, they will help our coalition build a better understanding of our industry’s fantastic contribution to circular consumption in Europe.”
